Allen Bestwick: 2 Chase races down, 8 to go to decide the 2014 champion! Today, we decide who makes the Contender Round of the Chase as we welcome you to the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware for round 3 of the Chase, the AAA 400! Our coverage today is presented by 5-HOUR ENERGY. And welcome inside our ESPN broadcast compound, alongside Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree, I'm Allen Bestwick. Thanks for having us in for the race. Andy, Dale, this is it....the first elimination race in the new Chase. Who's in, who's out?

Dale Jarrett: I think that Johnny Test is gonna be on the outside looking in after today, Allen. He's 21 points out of 12th, if he didn't have that blowup at Chicago, he'd be in much better shape. Unfortunately, he's gonna need a win if he's looking to advance past this round.

Andy Petree: I'm looking at Guy Hamdon here, Dale. If that 41 doesn't pull it together soon, he'll be on the outside looking in for the Championship at the end of 400 miles.

Allen Bestwick: 400 miles to decide the Contender Round of the Chase. Let's go down trackside for the command.

Track Announcer: Race fans, please welcome our grand marshal, 11 time NBA All-Star from YOUR PHILADELPHIA 76ERS, ALLEN IVERSON, as he delivers the most famous words in motorsports!

Allen Iverson: DRIVERS!....START!....YOUR!.....ENGINES!

(43 850 horsepower engines fire up)

Allen Bestwick: Hometown hero Allen Iverson gets us fired up here at the Monster Mile as we get set to roll for 400 miles here at Dover. As you take a look at our 5-Hour Energy starting grid as it rolls across the top of your screen, we'll take a look at our GEICO Race Rundown:

Distance: 400 laps/400 miles
Pit Road Speed: 50 MPH
Pit Window: 68-72 laps

Allen Bestwick: Final stories from pit road, we start with Jamie Little.

Jamie Little: Allen, last year's winner Danny Fenton starts 27th here today. By no means is it impossible to win from that far back, but it will be a challenge for Fenton to repeat as winner of this race. He's already safe into the next round by virtue of his win 2 weeks ago in Chicago, we'll see if he can double up at Dover. Mike Massaro?

Mike Massaro: Jamie, Ben Tennyson won here in June, but he started 11th with great pit position. Today, he starts 28th with the first pit stall on pit road. He's also 15th in the points, all of 5 points out of the Contender round. I talked with Ben after the Nationwide race yesterday and he told me that while it would be amazing to pull off the sweep, a top 10 finish today would be good enough to advance him out of round 1. Doc?

Dr. Jerry Punch: Mike, Abigail Lincoln starts 12th. She's got an easier road to the Contender round as she finds herself 14th in points, 1 point back of her teammate, 12th place Kim Possible. Possible's already secured her slot in the Contender round, as has Tommy Pickles. Lincoln and Cunningham have yet to do so. Rick Hendrick would like nothing more than to see all 4 of his drivers make their way to round 2 of the Chase. Meanwhile, on the 99 front, Dudley Puppy took home the Nationwide race yesterday. He starts 18th. This will be his last run at Dover behind the wheel of that 99 car before he moves on to Joe Gibbs Racing next season. It was announced on Friday that Matt Quinlan, our Nationwide Series points leader, will pilot the 6 car next season for Jack Roush. He and his girlfriend, Inez Ramon, are in attendance today, on the pit box for Dudley Puppy, hoping to guide him to a win at Dover. Allen?

Allen Bestwick: Thanks, Doc. Pace car is off, there's NBA Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams. He was the grand marshal for the Nationwide race yesterday, he'll wave the green flag today as the first elimination race, the final race in the Challenger round of the Chase, goes green in Dover!

(START - 400 LAP RACE)

Allen Bestwick: TROUBLE TURN 2! THAT'S KIM POSSIBLE!

Dale Jarrett: Don't think she hit anything there, Allen.

Andy Petree: And this will bring out the caution....we didn't even get a lap in under green!

Allen Bestwick: Caution is out for Kim Possible's spin in turn 2. First caution of the day, comes out at lap 1. Well, that was quick. Caution coming out right as we go green here in Dover! We go NASCAR NONSTOP presented by 5-Hour Energy.

(RESTART: Lap 6 - 5 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: Let's try this again. Green flag in the air at Dover as we go FULL THROTTLE!

(Full Throttle graphic)

(Lap 58 - Caution 2)

Allen Bestwick: 58 laps complete here in Dover, caution out for the 2nd time today for debris on the backstretch.

Andy Petree: And this comes about 10-14 laps away from what would've been green flag stops for these guys, so we'll see what kind of strategy is in play on this first stop.

Allen Bestwick: Pits are open and here they come! Let's go to our Pennzoil Platinum TRIPLE PITS and Mike Massaro!

Mike Massaro: Dudley Puppy called in last lap saying his car is too free on entry. Track bar adjustment complete, 4 tires and fuel for the 99 and Puppy's away! Jamie Little?

Jamie Little: Tommy Pickles too tight in the center of the corner, Mike. They'll take a round of wedge out of the right rear, 4 tires and fuel and Pickles is away. Dave Burns?

Dave Burns: Chassis adjustment complete for Timmy Turner, 4 tires and fuel on the 20 and he's away!

Top 10:

1. Edd (4)
2. Danny Fenton (16)
3. Tommy Pickles (24)
4. Dudley Puppy (99)
5. Otto Rocket (3)
6. Timmy Turner (20)
7. Kim Possible (88)
8. Phineas Flynn (43)
9. Hoagie Gilligan (2)
10. Abigail Lincoln (5)

(RESTART: Lap 64 - 6 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: 64 laps complete this time by, green flag in the air.....TROUBLE! CAR IN THE WALL, TURN 2!

Andy Petree: Looks like the 17 of Rudy Tabootie, Allen.

Dale Jarrett: It is Rudy Tabootie in the 17.

Allen Bestwick: And another quick yellow, 3rd one on the afternoon here at lap 65. Saturday Night, we head to America's Heartland for the first race of the Contender Round of the Chase, the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas. Coverage begins with NASCAR Countdown at 6 PM Eastern on ESPN2, then we flip over to ABC for the race at 7 PM Eastern.

(RESTART: Lap 68 - 4 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: Here we go again, green flag in the air and a race for the lead! Edd in the 4, Danny Fenton in the 16! Reinforcements coming in the 99 of Dudley Puppy!

Dale Jarrett: Fenton has the preferred line through 3 and 4, doesn't look like he'll clear the 4 this time by, though.

Andy Petree: Puppy right now is in a jam, he's trying to figure out who to work with.

Allen Bestwick: And while these 3 battle, the 20 of Timmy Turner and 24 of Tommy Pickles have reeled them in! WOAH! Edd got loose through turn 4 that last time by....DUDLEY PUPPY TO THE LEAD!

(Lap 118 - Caution 4)

Allen Bestwick: TROUBLE TURN 3! THAT'S DANNY FENTON! 4th caution of the day is out, 118 laps complete here in Dover. Time to go NASCAR NONSTOP presented by Pennzoil Platinum.

(NASCAR NONSTOP)

(RESTART: Lap 124 - 6 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: 276 laps to go here in Dover, green flag back out and to the lead is Timmy Turner in the 20!

Dale Jarrett: Did not see that coming!

Andy Petree: Turner got a great jump on that restart, left Dudley Puppy hanging out to dry. That may come back to bite him later, though.

Allen Bestwick: Might just be sooner, Andy. Puppy and Turner set to be teammates again at Joe Gibbs Racing next season. John Kernan has an update for us. John?

John Kernan: Danny Fenton just released from the infield care center; Danny, what happened?

Danny: That cheerleader got us. That no-good Kim Possible got up on my back bumper and punted me into the wall. One of these days, she'll get her comeuppance! That's all I'm saying. We're solidly in the Contender Round, so we can just watch and wait, then pounce next week in Kansas.

John Kernan: Danny Fenton's day ends early here in Dover.

(Lap 276 - Caution 5)

Allen Bestwick: BIG TROUBLE IN THE BACKSTRETCH! THAT'S KIM POSSIBLE AND GUY HAMDON!

Dale Jarrett: Oh my god.....that was a pair of REALLY GOOD RACECARS right there.

Allen Bestwick: Caution out for the 5th time, 124 laps to go in Dover....

Andy Petree: And we had just finished a round of green flag stops here, Allen. Might not see much action on pit lane this caution.

Allen Bestwick: You called it, Andy. Very few takers to the pit lane this time by. 123 laps to go in Dover, we go NASCAR NONSTOP presented by 5-Hour Energy.

(RESTART: Lap 284 - 8 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: Just shy of 300 miles here in Dover, green flag in the air and we go FULL THROTTLE!

(Full Throttle graphic)

(Lap 358 - Caution 6)

Allen Bestwick: POINTS LEADER IN THE WALL! Trouble for Phineas Flynn, he has found the turn 3 wall, caution out for the 6th time today with 42 laps to go, let's take a look and see how this happened.

Andy Petree: This was a race for the lead and as you can see, Dudley Puppy just got into the right rear quarterpanel of the 43. Flynn tried to save it, but the car just had too much momentum from the spin, hurled him right into the wall.

Allen Bestwick: There you see Phineas Flynn's crew chief and girlfriend, Isabella Garcia-Shapiro.....all of Flynn's fans can share in Isabella's frustration.

Dale Jarrett: And I'll bet you that Phineas will have some harsh words for Dudley Puppy after the race today.

Allen Bestwick: Pits are open, final stop of the day coming up and here they come! John Kernan, they're coming to you first!

John Kernan: Hoagie Gilligan came on the radio 3 laps ago saying the changes they made on the last stop worked to perfection. They'll take on 4 fresh Goodyear Eagles and fill up the tank with Sunoco race fuel to the finish, Gilligan's away! Jamie Little?

Jamie Little: No changes for race leader Dudley Puppy, just 4 tires and a full tank of Sunoco race fuel, Puppy's away! Doc?

Dr. Jerry Punch: No changes for the 4 car either, Jamie. 4 tires and fuel for the 4 and Edd's away!

Top 10:

1. Dudley Puppy (99)
2. Otto Rocket (3)
3. Edd (4)
4. Tommy Pickles (24)
5. Timmy Turner (20)
6. Kick Buttowski (14)
7. Jeremy Johnson (31)
8. Nigel Uno (1)
9. Johnny Test (42)
10. Abigail Lincoln (5)

(RESTART: Lap 368 - 10 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: 32 laps to go in Dover, green flag in the air and Dave Burns has a medical update for us. Dave?

Dave Burns: Phineas Flynn has been checked and released from the infield care center. Phineas, what happened?

Phineas: This is just what happens when you let dogs drive racecars! Dudley Puppy, wherever you are.....YOU'RE GOING DOWN AFTER THE RACE!

Dave Burns: Phineas Flynn calling out Dudley Puppy after slamming the wall just shy of the finish here in Dover.

(Lap 382 - Caution 7)

Allen Bestwick: CAR IN THE WALL, TURN 2! That's Ash Ketchum in the 36! Yellow out for the 7th time with just 18 laps to go in Dover. Andy, if you're Dudley Puppy, you're leading this race, what's going through your mind right now?

Andy Petree: I'm thinking there's 17 laps to go, there'll be 10 to go when we get the restart....I just need to keep the 24 at bay for 10 laps and I'm home free!

Dale Jarrett: Easier said than done here, Andy. That 24's been strong here all weekend. Puppy needs 10 PERFECT laps to win this one. One mistake and Tommy Pickles wins this race.

(RESTART: Lap 390 - 8 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: Puppy, Pickles, Turner, Lincoln and Rocket are your top 5 as we take the restart with 10 LAPS TO GO IN DOVER! 3 WIDE THROUGH TURN 2!

Dale Jarrett: That is NOT GONNA WORK!

Allen Bestwick: OH NO! TURNER, PICKLES, BUTTOWSKI, HAMDON, GILLIGAN, JOHNSON AND ARMBRUSTER INVOLVED!

Andy Petree: That's 7 of our Chasers right there!

Allen Bestwick: And chalk up 7 more for our Chasers In Trouble tally:

Chasers In Trouble:

Danny Fenton (16) - Wreck at lap 118
Kim Possible (88) - Spin at lap 1, Wreck at lap 276
Guy Hamdon (41) - Wreck at lap 276
Phineas Flynn (43) - Wreck at lap 358

Jeremy Johnson (31) - Wreck at lap 390
Ashley Armbruster (15) - Wreck at lap 390

(RESTART: Lap 402 - 12 caution laps)

Allen Bestwick: Puppy, Lincoln, Rocket, Edd and Tennyson are your top 5, first of 3 possible attempts at a green-white-checker finish. Green flag and Dudley Puppy to the lead! Abigail Lincoln getting freight trained, she'll drop back to 5th as Ben Tennyson makes his way to 2nd! WHITE FLAG AT DOVER! TENNYSON DIVES TO THE OUTSIDE, PUPPY UP HIGH! THROUGH 3 AND 4 FOR THE FINAL TIME! AT THE LINE....PUPPY AND TENNYSON SEND EACH OTHER INTO THE WALL AND DUDLEY PUPPY WINS AT DOVER!

(99 Team Communications)

Dudley: FINALLY! WE FINALLY GET OURSELVES TO VICTORY LANE! HAI-KEE-GEE!

Kitty: Too bad we aren't Chasers, Dudley.

Dudley: CAN YOU SAY 'SPOILER ALERT'? HAI-KEE-GEE!

Matt: Is he always like this, Kitty?

Kitty: You have no idea, MATTHEW!

Inez: HEY! Only I can call him 'Matthew', Kitty.

Dudley: She your girlfriend, Matt?

Matt: Yeah.

(Victory Lane)

John Kernan: Dudley Puppy, it's been an up and down season for you in 2014. You find yourself out of the Chase, you come to Dover and you end up winning....how's it feel to play spoiler to the Chasers?

Dudley Puppy: As Marty Reid was so prone to saying in times like these....CAN YOU SAY UPSET CITY? Feels great to play spoiler, get a win before I head to JGR, reunite with my broski, Timmy Turner....leave my ride in the hands of young Matt Quinlan. I've seen Matty run in the Nationwide Series and I can already tell that this Fastenal Ford Fusion is gonna be in good hands. And get this.....Matt's turning 12 on Christmas Day and he's running in the Nationwide Series! If that's not a testament to how good he is, I don't know what is! Also....Matt, Inez looks slammin' in that firesuit! You've got yourself a keeper! We've got Kansas next, a track that's never been particularly good to us recently. Let's see if we can play spoiler again in the Contender Round.

John Kernan: Dudley Puppy plays spoiler to the Chasers with a win at the Monster Mile.
