Marty Reid: ESPN, the Worldwide Leader in Sports, and the Verizon IndyCar Series, welcome you to Pocono for race 13 of the 2014 Verizon IndyCar Series season, the POCONO INDYCAR 500 fueled by Sunoco! Welcome to the Tricky Triangle at Pocono Raceway, everyone. Marty Reid alongside Rusty Wallace and Scott Goodyear, thanks for having us in for the race. Scott, you've raced on this track before, what do these guys have to do to tame the Tricky Triangle?

Scott Goodyear: This racetrack is tough on tires, it's also rough on fuel. These cars get less than 4 miles to the gallon here at Pocono. With a 22 gallon fuel tank, that places the pit window at around 28-33 laps. That makes this a 6 stop race. However, there are reports of rain in the area....

Rusty Wallace: So that's gonna play into the pit strategy for these crew chiefs. We don't know if the race will go to the scheduled distance or be cut short by weather. Just like at any track we go to, the drivers and teams will have to race the pack and the track. This race today provides an extra variable....the weather. Mother Nature is an unpredictable foe, but she may just be a friend to one of these drivers here today in Pocono.

Marty Reid: As you were talking, Rusty....the skies opened up. It is raining here in Pocono, we are in a holding pattern now due to the weather, but hang tight, we'll do our best to get this race in today. If Mother Nature stops us from doing so, you'll see it right back here on ABC tomorrow morning, 11 AM Eastern, coverage is presented by Verizon. While we dry the track, let's talk with some of the drivers who'll be competing today....or tomorrow. Let's head out to the grid, starting with Vince Welch.

Vince Welch: Marty, Otto Rocket starts on pole for the race here at Pocono. Otto, your car in practice was, in your words.....mad loose. How did you and your team go about fixing the issue in preparation for the race?

Otto: We made some wholesale changes to this #26 Dr. Pepper Honda. Put about 2 pounds of air pressure in each tire, wedge adjustments, track bar, chassis, spring rubbers....you name it, my team did it. Here's hoping we'll actually get to make use of those changes today. Get out of here, you stupid rain! I want to race!

Vince Welch: Otto Rocket ready to race here in Pocono. Dave Burns?

Dave Burns: Vince, I'm with Dan Kuso and Ben Tennyson, they start 6th and 7th on the grid, respectively. Dan, Ben....you've been the dominant drivers of the year so far, but in recent weeks, you guys have slipped from the top of the points. What's been going on with Ganassi Racing?

Dan: Just a string of bad luck, I guess.

Ben: Richmond and Indy were the turning points for us. Dan got hit with a late race penalty in Richmond and I spun out in the Indy Grand Prix. We were better in Detroit...Texas and Michigan were not our best races, to be honest with you.

Dan: The double header in Houston got us back on track. Now we come here to Pocono, a race we really need.....

Ben: And it's raining. Man, I hate the rain! Let's go racing!

Dan: You said it!

Dave Burns: Dan Kuso and Ben Tennyson are ready to go here in Pocono, they'll take the green in 6th and 7th. Jamie Little?

Jamie Little: Dave, Randy Cunningham coming off a split in Houston....won the first race but crashed out of the 2nd race. What can you do to rebound here in Pocono?

Randy: Not much we can do except come out with a good finish. We'd like to win, but Tommy's gonna be gunnin' for that W because he's already got Indy and a win here would set him up for claiming that $1,000,000 bonus at Fontana in August. So....just a good finish here and a win in Iowa for us. That's how I feel we can rebound from Houston. Now if we could just get this rain out of here.

Jamie Little: Randy Cunningham will start 4th when we get the green. Back to you, Marty.

(4:40 PM)

Marty Reid: Welcome back to Pocono Raceway, we were supposed to go green here in the Pocono IndyCar 500 just after 12 Noon Eastern time. Right now it's 4:40 PM in the East and as you can see, it is still raining here in Pocono. If the rain were to stop now, even with the Air Titans on the track, it would take 2 and a half hours to dry this track. IndyCar officials have determined that there wouldn't be enough daylight to get to halfway and make this an official race. So, they've decided to pull the plug on today's Pocono IndyCar 500 and reschedule it until tomorrow at 11 AM Eastern. You'll see that right here on ABC.

(Monday morning - 11 AM)

Air Temp.: 82 degrees
Track Temp.: 114 degrees
Weather: Clear, no chance of rain
Green Flag Time: 11:08 AM

(ESPN SpeedWorld 1998-2004 theme)

Marty Reid: Good morning, everybody! After a delay of nearly a day due to rain, 90,000 fans have called in sick from work to return here to Pocono Raceway for the running of the Pocono IndyCar 500 fueled by Sunoco! Our coverage today is presented by Verizon. Let's go down trackside for the command.

Track Announcer: Race fans, it's time for the most famous words in motorsports! Please welcome the stars of the new Columbia Pictures movie 'Sex Tape', in theaters July 18th, CAMERON DIAZ AND JASON SEGEL!

Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel: DRIVERS! START! YOUR! ENGINES!

(33 900 horsepower engines fire up)

Marty Reid: After a rain delay of nearly a day due to rain, we are finally ready to race here in Pocono! We take a look at our Verizon Starting Grid, set up by the points as qualifying on Friday was rained out, putting Otto Rocket on the pole today, Tommy Pickles and Phineas Flynn flank him. You'll find our In-Race Reporter in the middle of row 5, that's Ash Ketchum in the Ganassi #8 car. Rusty Wallace, why don't you give him a jingle?

Rusty Wallace: Ash, it's Rusty Wallace in the ABC booth. You got me?

(IN-RACE REPORTER: Ash Ketchum - 8)

Ash: Got ya, Rusty. Come on back.

Rusty Wallace: Ash, we were all ready to race on Sunday, Mother Nature had other plans for us....how has your strategy changed now that we're racing in direct sunlight as opposed to a cool track like we were supposed to yesterday?

Ash: The track is slick, we're on a green racetrack which means the track has no grip, no nothing. We're in for a wild race today, that's all I'm saying!

Rusty Wallace: Good luck today, Ash.

Ash: 10-4.

Marty Reid: We take a look at our on board cameras for today's Pocono IndyCar 500, the middle leg of the Fuzzy's Triple Crown of 500 mile races. Carrying our ApexBrasil on board camera is Ben Tennyson, he starts 7th. Todd Daring starts 15th, he's carrying our Verizon Wireless on board cam. Our Chevrolet on-board cam is held by Tommy Pickles in the Shell V-Power Chevrolet, he starts 2nd on the grid. And our PPG on board camera is held by Guy Hamdon, who starts 18th today. We have a competition caution scheduled for lap 20 to check tire wear after the torrential rain last night as the pace car peels off. Field's now in the hands of Otto Rocket and the green flag waves, we are racing in Pocono!

Scott Goodyear: And Otto Rocket's picking up right where he left off from Michigan! He got a great start, just rocket down into turn 1, hung Pickles and Flynn out to dry!

Rusty Wallace: Looking in on our In-Race Reporter, Ash Ketchum...passing cars left and right! He's already up to 11th after starting 14th!

Marty Reid: His next target is Nigel Uno in that 98 car, he's running 10th right now as Otto Rocket crosses start/finish to complete lap #1, 23 hours behind schedule as we take a look at 4th place Randy Cunningham in the 12 car, under pressure from the Ganassi cars of Dan Kuso and Ben Tennyson! We have a car in the wall, turn 2! That's Hank Hill!

Scott Goodyear: Looks like a flat right front tire on the 22 there, Marty.

Rusty Wallace: And this will bring out the caution.

Marty Reid: It's our first one of the afternoon, comes out at lap 2. As you see, Hill has brought his car down the pit lane. You can change tires before the competition yellow....just can't refuel before then.

(RESTART: Lap 8 - 6 caution laps)

Marty Reid: 8 laps complete this time by here in Pocono. Otto Rocket, Phineas Flynn and Tommy Pickles lead them down to the start/finish line and we are back to green flag racing in Pocono! Phineas Flynn will rest second from Tommy Pickles as Otto Rocket sets sail again!

Rusty Wallace: I don't know what the guys over at Andretti Autosport did to that 26 car, but it's working like a charm! That restart was amazing by Otto Rocket as you see Pickles quickly fall into the clutches of the 9 of Dan Kuso!

Marty Reid: And some problems for the 3, Dave Burns?

Dave Burns: Tommy Pickles jumped on the radio last lap saying that he spun the tires on the restart. Crew chief Chuckie Finster radioing in saying 'Relax, Tommy. 10 laps to the competition yellow.'

(Lap 20 - Caution 2)

Marty Reid: 20 laps complete here in Pocono, under caution here for the 2nd time today, this is the scheduled competition yellow to check the tires after torrential rains soaked the Long Pond area last night, forcing us to race today. Field ducks on to pit road, time for our ApexBrasil QUAD PITS! We go to Jamie Little!

Jamie Little: 4 tires and fuel all around for the Penske teammates - Todd Daring, Randy Cunningham and Tommy Pickles. They were all up inside the top 10 when the caution came out. Meanwhile, chassis adjustment already complete on the 26 of Otto Rocket, 4 tires and fuel for him and he's down and away! He'll win the race off pit road!

Top 10:

1. Otto Rocket (26)
2. Randy Cunningham (12)
3. Todd Daring (2)
4. Phineas Flynn (99)
5. Timmy Turner (16)
6. Tommy Pickles (3)
7. Hank Hill (22)
8. Dan Kuso (9)
9. Johnny Test (4)
10. Ash Ketchum (8)

(RESTART: Lap 25 - 5 caution laps)

Marty Reid: A great stop by Otto Rocket has him out front as we come to the restart at lap 25, he has led every lap to this point as we're back to green flag racing at Pocono and we go FULL THROTTLE!

(Full Throttle graphic)

(Lap 98 - Caution 3)

Marty Reid: Green flag stops have cycled around, Otto Rocket back in front here in Pocono....and there's a new 2nd place car, that's Alvin Seville in the 28, one of Rocket's teammates over at Andretti Autosport....AND WE HAVE A CRASH IN TURN 2! THAT'S RANDY CUNNINGHAM IN THE 12! HE IS AIRBORNE....SLAMS INTO THE CATCHFENCE AS HE COLLECTS THE 22 OF HANK HILL! JOHNNY TEST IS INVOLVED, TIMMY TURNER IS IN IT! TOMMY PICKLES WITH NOWHERE TO GO! ISH TAYLOR IN THE 14 ALSO INVOLVED!

Rusty Wallace: And a lot of good cars taken out here....Ash Ketchum, Eli Shane, Jimmy Neutron, Arnold Shortman....

Marty Reid: Caution flag will fly for just the 3rd time today here at lap 98 as the Tricky Triangle claims another group of victims. Let's go to our ApexBrasil track cam, see how this all unfolded.

Scott Goodyear: It was Dan Kuso in the 9 car. He gives Cunningham a little tap, gets him loose....Cunningham tried to save it, but he got sky high into the catchfence....collected 9 other cars with him.

Rusty Wallace: Now that's the catchfence doing its job as Cunningham walks away.....a little hop in his step. He's a little shaken, but got out of there unscathed.

Marty Reid: He joins teammate Tommy Pickles and Ash Ketchum on one of the Delphi safety trucks for the mandatory ride to the infield care center as you see the cars that were involved in the wreck:

Involved in Wreck - Lap 98:

Tommy Pickles (3)
Johnny Test (4)
Ash Ketchum (8)
Randy Cunningham (12)
Ish Taylor (14)
Timmy Turner (16)
Eli Shane (17)
Hank Hill (22)
Jimmy Neutron (67)
Arnold Shortman (68)

(RESTART: Lap 112 - 14 caution laps)

Marty Reid: 88 laps to go this time by, green flag in the air and we have a challenge for the lead!

Rusty Wallace: First time Rocket's been challenged all day and it's coming from the 2 of Todd Daring!

Marty Reid: The lone wolf of the Penske brigade now, Todd Daring....both of his teammates were wiped out in the last yellow. Dr. Jerry Punch is with Tommy Pickles.

Dr. Jerry Punch: Thank you, Marty. Tommy Pickles has been checked and released from the infield care center. Tommy, you were involved in that wreck at lap 98. Tell us what you saw from your point of view.

Tommy: I just saw the 12 slam the catchfence going into the Tunnel Turn and thought....'please don't come back down the track'. Low and behold, he did exactly what I didn't want him to do. Took me, Johnny, Hank, Ash and 5 others with him. I hope Randy's alright. Sure hope he isn't seriously injured and I hope Todd can pick up the slack for us. Todd....we're counting on you, bro. Let's finish this race strong!

Dr. Jerry Punch: Tommy Pickles will drive home from Pocono with a 21st place finish. Marty?

Marty Reid: Thanks, Doc. Todd Daring runs 2nd in his #2 Penske machine, he's got a nose on Otto Rocket through turn 1...gets the 26 loose! And he'll take the lead heading for the Tunnel Turn! Todd Daring will come across the start finish line to lead lap 116!

(Lap 152 - Caution 4)

Marty Reid: 4th caution of the race is out....debris in the Tunnel Turn, the cause of the yellow, comes out 48 laps shy of the finish of the Pocono IndyCar 500 here on ABC. Our next race here on ABC will be 2 weeks from Saturday as the Verizon IndyCar Series returns to Charlotte for the zMax 600K! That's Saturday, July 26th, 7 PM Eastern/6 Central, right here on ABC. Our coverage is presented by Firestone. Not many takers to the pit lane, we were just coming out of green flag stops, we'll take a little break, go Side-By-Side for you and be right back for the restart. You're watching the Verizon IndyCar Series on ABC!

(RESTART: Lap 158 - 6 caution laps)

Marty Reid: Back to green flag racing with 42 laps to go in Pocono as we go FULL THROTTLE!

(Full Throttle graphic)

(Lap 186 - Caution 5)

Marty Reid: CAUTION! ASHOKA TANO HAS SLAMMED THE TURN 2 WALL WITH 14 LAPS TO GO, HER CAR'S DESTROYED! Let's see how this happened again through our Firestone on-board camera.

Scott Goodyear: On board with Tano....looks like she got tapped on her rear wing, don't know by who yet. Take a look at the wreck in slow-mo.

Rusty Wallace: Her own teammate got her!

Scott Goodyear: The 9 of Dan Kuso got her. Did not see that coming!

(RESTART: Lap 196 - 10 caution laps)

Marty Reid: Rocket, Daring, Flynn, Kuso and Seville are your top 5 with 4 LAPS TO GO IN POCONO! GREEN FLAG FLIES, WE ARE BACK RACING AT THE TRICKY TRIANGLE! Battle for 5th, Alvin Seville has it, Ben Tennyson wants it!

Rusty Wallace: Watch that 10 car get a run on Seville through turn 3 here. Tennyson's not gonna get the 28 this time, he'll more than likely get him this time through turn 2.

Marty Reid: And he will! Move Tennyson up to 5th as he sets his sights on his teammate! The lead now 1.1 seconds between Rocket and Daring with 2 laps to go at Pocono!

Scott Goodyear: And unless something dramatic happens to that 26, Rocket's gonna win this race. I don't see how the 2 of Daring's gonna catch him!

Marty Reid: 1 more lap around Pocono for Otto Rocket! Lead's now 1.7 seconds! There you see his sister, Reggie Rocket, spotting for him. Otto Rocket coming off of the Tunnel Turn for the final time! He is half a mile from victory! Mother Nature delayed us nearly a full day, but for Andretti Autosport, it was well worth the wait! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA! OTTO ROCKET WINS AT POCONO!

(26 Team Communications)

Otto: This one's for you, America! Thanks to all those who served in the defense of our country.....we couldn't go racing without your support. Thank you.

Twister: Awesome job, Otto-man!

Reggie: Way to go, Rocket Boy!

Lars: WAY TO GO! POCONO!

Otto: Twist, you brought your brother here?

Twister: BUSTED!

Otto: Reggie, go calm Twister down. I'll meet you guys in victory lane.

Reggie: 10-4. Looks like I'll get to try my new makeup on after all!

(Victory Lane)

Vince Welch: Otto Rocket, you started on pole and flat out dominated this race. I guess you can say this win was well worth the wait.

Otto: It was, it really was worth it; both for me.....and for Reggie, who's kinda tied up at the moment kissing Twister. I was a little scared towards halfway when Tommy got wrecked, thought I was gonna get collected. Glad I wasn't involved, otherwise I wouldn't be talking to you. Gotta thank Honda, Andretti Autosport, Dr. Pepper, SureTone, Snapple, GoDaddy, the men and women of our armed forces....my crew chief and best bro, Twister; my sister and spotter, Reggie; 'The Squid', Sam....and my girlfriend, Clio. All of you guys....yes, you too, Lars. You guys are an amazing group....couldn't do this without you. We've got the even trickier Iowa Speedway next.....let's win one for Rusty on his track!
