Gary Thorne: Stone snaps a shot, rebound for Kastle....SCORES! The Ducks pour it on! 4 GOALS IN THE FIRST PERIOD FOR ANAHEIM!

Gary Thorne (voiceover): ....leaving the Blues searching for answers. Now, Timmy Turner leads his team back home to St. Louis for a must win Game 6 against the Ducks. Win and it's back to California for Game 7. Lose and summer break begins early. A season hangs in the balance tonight in St. Louis. Ducks, Blues - Game 6.....NEXT ON ABC!

(NHL on ABC 1999-2004 theme and opening)

STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS ON ABC
Presented by Sprint

Gary Thorne: The Spirit of St. Louis is coming in droves to the Scottrade Center to be with their Blues and the team is gonna need all that spirit because this is a must win game! It's win or go home tonight for St. Louis. A win will force a 7th and final game of this Western Conference Semifinal series back in Anaheim. Otto Rocket and the Sharks lie in wait, anticipating their next opponent as we welcome you to St. Louis for the NHL on ABC. Alongside Bill Clement, I'm Gary Thorne, welcome to the Stanley Cup Playoffs on ABC. Bill, the Blues found out just how tough it is to put up any kind of offense against this Anaheim Ducks team in a 6-3 loss Saturday night. What do you think Turner and the Blues need to do to force a Game 7 in Anaheim on Wednesday night?

Bill Clement: Gary, the Blues need to score early and they need to score often against this Ducks defensive corps. They are relentless, they are ruthless, they were among the league leaders in fewest goals allowed this season. What the Blues need to do is find a weakness in this potent Ducks defense and exploit it.

Gary Thorne: As mentioned earlier, a win will force this series back to Anaheim for Game 7. You'll see that Wednesday night, 8 PM Eastern, right here on ABC. Of course, the Eastern Conference Finals were set earlier today here on ABC, it will be the 8th seeded Buffalo Sabers against the #2 seed New Jersey Devils. Game 1 will take place Sunday night, 7 PM Eastern. That will be right here on ABC. We're set to go here in St. Louis as we take a look at our officiating crew - Dan O' Rourke and Tom Chimelewski are the referees, linesmen are Pierre Champeaux and Kiel Murchison. Standbys are Kevin Pollock and Trent Knorr and the off-ice officials are from Tampa Bay.

Puck drops and we're underway from St. Louis! Gary Thorne, Bill Clement with you, Mike Milbury's our ice level reporter. We'll check in with him throughout the game.

Blues will start this game with Turner, McBadbat and Tang on their first line, Griffin and James are on defense and Veronica Star is in net.

Ducks counter with Kastle, Tsukumo and Tenjo on their first unit, Stone and Francis are on defense and Tori Meadows is between the pipes.

Turner with a saucer pass, centers it to Tang for a shot!

Save made by Meadows, she can't clear it, puck corralled onto the stick of McBadbat, back over to Turner, Timmy Turner FIRES IT WIDE! Rebound for Tang, PAD SAVE BY TORI MEADOWS AND SHE CLEARS!

This portion of the NHL on ABC is brought to you by Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, in theaters now, rated PG-13.

Puck carried along now by Francis James, he'll shuffle it over to Vicky Griffin and it's centered back to Captain Turner. Timmy Turner will fire this one OFF THE POST! Rebound for Trixie Tang, INTO THE GLOVE OF TORI MEADOWS AND SHE'LL COVER FOR THE WHISTLE!

Delayed call coming up, we go to Dan O' Rourke.

Dan O' Rourke: Anaheim penalty, #17, 2 minutes for cross checking.

Bill Clement: Yuma Tsukumo getting the cross checking call here. He runs up, thrusts his stick at Trixie Tang, sending her flying. The refs will never let you get away with that. That is a blatant cross check on the part of Tsukumo and that'll be 2 in the box every time.

Gary Thorne: Yuma Tsukumo getting nailed for a cross check at 1:42 of the opening period. This will set up a Best Buy power play for the Blues, who were 8th in the NHL on the power play this season.

Tang off the draw, centering pass to Turner, one-time shot....SCORES!

(St. Louis Blues goal horn)

TIMMY TURNER WITH HIS 16TH OF THE PLAYOFFS AND THE BLUES GO UP 1-0!

Bill Clement: Excellent work off the face-off by the Blues. Trixie Tang is one person you do not want to go up against in the face-off circle because she wins 90% of her face-offs and she's proven why right here. She wins the draw against Kite Tenjo, spots Turner wide open in the slot, Meadows just had no chance against the one-timer.

Gary Thorne: It's Turner from Tang on the power play at 2:08 of the opening frame as TSUKUMO COUGHS IT UP! Tang on the breakaway, only the goalie to beat.

She fakes, shot.....SCORES!
