FOX Sports 2?

(Icona Pop - All Night)

Brian Till (voiceover): The crowds have now gathered in Daytona Beach. Nearly 200 drivers have come to the World Center of Racing hoping to change their lives forever.....as the world watches live on television and online. This is where the stars of motorsports come to play. This is the ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA!

ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

(NFL on FOX theme)

Brian Till: FOX Sports welcomes you to live flag to flag coverage of one of the great endurance classics! On now - the start of a new era for Daytona International Speedway, the 54th running of the ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA! Hi again, everyone. With Tommy Kendall and Justin Bell, I'm Brian Till. Welcome to Daytona and welcome to the Rolex 24. We are 8 hours into the race and we've seen plenty of action and plenty of cautions.

Justin Bell: That's just indicative of the action we've seen here in the first 8 hours. A record number of cautions for that time span with 7 in the first 8 hours. The attrition rate is mind-boggling, we have 11 cars out of the race. That number will continue to grow as we race to sunrise. But just how many more cars will fall out before we hit 7 AM?

(RESTART: Lap 351 - 9 caution laps - 10:53 PM (8:23:00))

Brian Till: Back to green flag racing out of our 7th full course caution, 7 minutes away from the 11 PM hour here at Daytona. Let's wake the neighbors and CRANK IT UP!

(Crank It Up graphic)

(Lap 400 - Caution 8 - 12:30 AM Sunday (10:00:00))

Brian Till: Jennifer Shope has just found the wall in NASCAR turn 3, full course caution out for the 8th time tonight right at the 10 hour mark of this Rolex 24. And there's a look at Alex Minazuki in the Ganassi 02. A strong run for the young Brit in his first ever Rolex 24. He was a late addition to the Ganassi superstar car. Ganassi has just announced that they'll run these exact same driver lineups for Sebring and the Glen.

(RESTART: Lap 407 - 7 caution laps - 12:52 AM (10:22:00))

Brian Till: Going back to green flag racing as we close in on halfway here at Daytona. Penn Zero with a great restart, but Alex Minazuki and Kim Possible not letting him escape! In the GTLM class, Crow Hogan trying to run down teammate Todd Daring in those Porsche factory cars!

Tommy Kendall: Those Porsche factory cars have shown great speed all month as we take a look at the GT Daytona class battle and our top 5 there - Ashley Armbruster with the lead, no surprise there. The surprises there are Stevenson Racing with the 6 and 9 cars, and Change Racing with the 35, Eddy Archer in that car now.

Justin Bell: What the heck is going on with the 56, Brian Till?

Brian Till: Looks like her car's been crushed, but she didn't hit any walls!

(56 Team Communications)

Ashley A.: I don't know how or why.....but I think my car just got Force Gripped by those Jedi!

Justin Bell: Now we know who's responsible for that mangled mess.

Brian Till: That was our GT Daytona class leader, Ashley Armbruster! Her car, mangled up in the bus stop chicane. Full course caution #9 is out.

(RESTART: Lap 418 - 9 caution laps - 1:25 AM (10:55:00))

Brian Till: 11 hours now complete here in Daytona.....GREEN FLAG!

Tommy Kendall: Look out! 3 wide will not work down at International Horseshoe! That's a wreck just waiting to happen!

Brian Till: That wreck was almost Vincent Martella in the SpeedSource Mazda! He has since stabilized in the 6th position and that's been the story of the race - calamity on restarts as we see the DeltaWing moving up. That's Tommy Gilligan driving that DeltaWing, he's already taken 7th from Ashley Reynolds in the 29, now setting his sights on Vincent Martella in the 70!

Justin Bell: But Martella has help coming! That's Milo Murphy in the 07, the sister car to the 70!

Brian Till: 3 wide down NASCAR turn 4.....give the position to Murphy! Murphy to 6th, Martella to 7th, Tommy Gilligan to 8th in the DeltaWing! We look in on the battle for the overall lead as that heats up - Penn Zero in the Tequila Patron ESM 1 car has it, Alex Minazuki in the Ganassi 02 wants it!

Tommy Kendall: Gave him a little tap down International Horseshoe.....great passing opportunity coming up down the backstretch!

Brian Till: Side by side through the bus stop! They head out of NASCAR turns 3 and 4, into the trioval.....Advantage: NOBODY! Penn Zero led that lap by a bumper!

(Lap 470 - Caution 10 - 3:15 AM (12:45:00))

Brian Till: TROUBLE IN THE INTERNATIONAL HORSESHOE! Looks like 6 cars involved! Make it 10 cars involved! Caution comes out again!

Involved in Wreck - Lap 470:

Weevil Underwood (23)
Denzel Crocker (22)
Woody (19)
Mandark (45)
Brick Flagg (85)
Barney Rubble (28)
Daria Morgendorffer (63)
Chad Dickson (77)
Musa (38)

(RESTART: Lap 484 - 14 caution laps - 4:11 AM (13:41:00))

Brian Till: 484 laps complete, 11 minutes past 4 AM Sunday morning here in Daytona as we go back to green flag racing and we CRANK IT UP again!

(Crank It Up graphic)

(Lap 520 - Caution 11 - 5:22 AM (14:52:00))

Brian Till: Welcome back to Daytona, under our 11th full course caution, this one for debris in the bus stop as we approach sunrise less than 2 hours from now. Pits are open and here they come! Matt Yocum?

Matt Yocum: Alex Minazuki in the Ganassi 02 had just taken the lead before the yellow came out. 4 tires and fuel for the Ganassi Star Car. He'll be relieved by Ash Ketchum and he's away! Expect Minazuki back in the car to finish this race off! Jamie Howe?

Jamie Howe: Staying with the Prototype class, driver change taking place for the 70 SpeedSource car. Ferb Fletcher out, they'll turn it back over to Alyson Stoner. We'll see either Vincent Martella or Jeff 'Swampy' Marsh in the car to finish this Rolex 24. They're away! Andrew Marriott?

Andrew Marriott: GTLM Class Leader Crow Hogan going with 4 tires and fuel, he'll hand off the 912 Porsche factory car to Yusei Fudo, no adjustments on this stop and he's away!

Top 5 by class:

Prototype:

1. Ash Ketchum (02)
2. Becky Botsford (1)

(RESTART: Lap 527 - 7 caution laps - 5:43 AM (15:13:00))

Brian Till: Welcome news for these drivers - sunrise about an hour away, the finish is in sight here at Daytona as we go back green and a daring move by the rookie Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the French driver in that 37 car! She's gunning for that 02 of Ash Ketchum, taking the 1 of Becky Botsford and the 10 of Heidi Weinerman with her! Ketchum back to 4th, 37 car of Dupain-Cheng back to the lead, Botsford to 2nd, Weinerman to 3rd!

Justin Bell: And what happened to the 02 on the restart?

Tommy Kendall: Let's go back and look at this restart.....just like the initial start with Alyson Stoner, Ketchum spun his tires and it cost him 3 positions. He's lucky that only kicked him back to 4th.

Brian Till: His teammate, Nigel Uno in the 01 car, the 2013 winner of this race, runs 6th. Right now, he's working on Alyson Stoner in the 70 for that 5th position, trying to get to Ketchum in the 02 to help him out and that's the best thing that Ash Ketchum can hope for - a teammate right behind him.

(Lap 580 - Caution 12 - 6:30 AM (16:00:00))

Brian Till: 16 hours now complete and problems for the #8 Starworks P2 car of Eddy. He is stopped in NASCAR turn 2 to bring out the 12th full course yellow of the race, possible engine issues for that 2nd Starworks car.
